Software Engineer, Senior Full Stack

The Positions are Full time and our offices are based in Thessaloniki, Greece. Over 90% of Fieldscale’s team consists of Engineers with an MSc or a PhD in electrical, mechanical, software and computer engineering

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Fieldscale, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with product owner, software engineers, and QA engineers to deliver product features.
  • Develop user interface workflows and backend functionality for Fieldscale's products.
  • Support the integration of UI elements with the backend.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the data backend.
  • Build efficient, robust and scalable services and software abstractions.
  • Advocate best practices for software architecture and frontend development.
  • Participate in architecture design and code reviews.
  • Being accountable for your code's quality.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies for building scalable applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years experience in a relevant software engineering role.
  • Demonstrated experience in JavaScript and Python using Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Proficient in React (and modern frameworks), CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience with developing REST APIs.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiar with Amazon Web Services.
  • Good understanding of modern software architecture styles (e.g. Microservices)
  • Experience with the standard software engineering practices for the full software development cycle.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Self-starter and willing to learn.
  • Strive for continuous improvement, instead of perfection.
  • Good command of the English language.

You get a strong plus if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with developing SaaS applications.
  • Experience with Material Design
  • Experience with Django REST framework
  • Experience with testing frameworks like PyTest and Selenium
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Familiar with Terraform.
  • Understanding of agile development methods (Scrum or Kanban).
