Yiorgos Bontzios

Co-Founder, CEO

Yiorgos sets the vision and the long-term targets of Fieldscale. He supervises all operations and he is responsible for keeping the engine moving inside and outside of the company. Yiorgos holds an MSc and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering both from the Aristotle University of Greece. He is the principal inventor of one patent; has published over 20 papers and 4 books. Yiorgos has worked in various positions and developed several software tools as a Freelancer. He loves playing with his two kids.

George Bouzianas, PhD

Co-Founder, CTO

George implements novel numerical techniques that form the kernel of the company’s technology. He is an expert in Computational Electromagnetics and Programing of Numerical Techniques (FDTD, FEM, BEM). George holds a MSc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computational Electromagnetics both from Aristotle University of Greece. During his studies he won 4 different scholarships of excellence; published over 10 scientific papers and developed a time domain numerical model for the simulation of electromagnetic effects in Graphene structures. George takes joy in jogging and Taekwondo.

James H. Hogan

Advisor

Jim is currently the managing partner of Vista Ventures, LLC. Jim has worked in the semiconductor design and manufacturing industry for more than 40 years gaining experience as a senior executive and board director in electronic design automation, intellectual property, semiconductor equipment, material science and IT companies. Currently, Jim serves on several private companies’ board of directors. Additionally, Jim serves as a strategic advisor to several private and public companies.

George Tziralis

Investor, OpenFund

George (b. 1982), is an engineer by training, turned entrepreneur turned venture capitalist. He has founded a couple of software companies, one specializing in prediction markets and another in data mining; in both times he failed. He is widely recognized as the initiator the Open Coffee community in Greece, hosting monthly meetings in Athens since 2007. In 2009, he co-founded Openfund, which he now serves as a Partner. He is mostly focusing on the business side of the operations, while serving in a number of boards of portfolio companies. George holds a PhD in Operations Research and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, both from the National Technical University of Athens. He blogs at gtziralis.com.

Nikos Antoniou

Investor, PJ Tech Catalyst

A skilled venture capitalist and financial professional. Nikos has been part of the PJ Tech team since 2010 and has led the efforts of searching, evaluating and executing various venture-capital types of investment opportunities. In prior positions, Nikos was an Associate Director of Investment Banking at Alpha Bank for two years and an Account Officer of Investment Banking at Proton Bank for eight years. Those years gave him exceptional experience with advising several companies in initial public offerings, secondary equity offerings, M&A’s and tender offers. Nikos holds an MBA from Auburn University, USA and a Business Administration degree from Oglethorpe University of Atlanta.
