Commercial simulation Software of Partial Discharge Inception for the optimal design of medium and high voltage applications (CSPDI)

  • December 15, 2018
  • Thessaloniki

The main objective of CSPDI project is the development of commercial simulation software for the optimal design of medium and high voltage industrial applications, through the accurate estimation of Partial Discharge inception.Through the accurate estimation of Partial Discharge inception, CSPDI software is expected to reduce the manufacturing time and cost of the final product, as it significantly shortens the time and cost of the essential laboratory tests and the over-dimensioning of the design.

Extensive experimental investigation will allow for the development of generalized Partial Discharge models on the basis of physical processes involved in Partial Discharge activity. These models will be integrated into the software considering the electric field variation, as obtained through 3D electric field simulation that utilizes an electromagnetic solver adjusted to the requirements of Partial Discharge simulation. The cutting-edge technology of the software will be combined with ease of use, solving speed, robustness, as well as visualization of the results in a way familiar to the user.

CSPDI project is implemented by Fieldscale PC in collaboration with the High Voltage Laboratory of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
